Supernatural returned in its seventh year tonight on the CW in an action packed season opener. Get the full recap surrounding ‘Meet The New Boss’ below. Opening with Cas surrounded by Sam, Dean and Bobby, declaring that he is God, Supernatural returned without disappointment tonight after months of waiting. After reading through the lines all summer with talk of this year’s premise and Misha Collins’ step down as a recurring character, it looked like Cas’ story as God would play out for a couple episodes, but it ended abruptly tonight, sort of. Its hard to tell what show runners are up to with their signature curve balls. Kicking off with Castiel on a mission as God with a firm hand, he coolly manages to massacre hoards of people, trying to correct the word of God, and fix those hypocritical sinners. He even gives a man his sight back, but that’s where the caring Castiel resurfaces until the last couple of minutes. Throughout the episode Dean is annoyingly stand-offish.
